Last night we saw the Doctor 'regenerate' for the eleventh time or was it. Is David Tennant both the tenth and eleventh Doctor? If so he only has one more regeneration left. Is there anybody out there with the answer?

I don't think it counts.

Well he did say he healed himself and then put the energy to regenerate into the hand. So I guess technically he didn't regenerate. And the second Doctor was created from the hand and isn't entirely timelord so I guess he doesn't count as a regeneration. I'm so confused. I'm going to guess that they still only count him as tenth.

It was clever to have DT going off with Rose, ageing etc. Means they can be brought back some time for interest.

The original script had a scene (which didn't appear) where Doctor 1 gave Doctor 2 the means of building his own TARDIS. Then we would have an alternate reality Doctor.

They are bound to find some way around it. Of the top of my head I cant think what it might be, but I'm sure someone will think up something.
It is a question I have asked myself.
