Rumours are now circulating that Donna is an incarnation of Romana, a female Timelord that once traveled with the 4th Doctor. Played by both Mary Tamm and Lalla Ward, Romana was last seen in 'Warriors' Gate', where she leaves with the robot dog K-9 to forge her own path in the parallel universe of E-space.
K9 reappears as the companion of Sarah Jane Smith, with no real explanation on how re got back from E-space unless of course with Romana?

well. i think that they want to have a femakle doctir but are a bit nevous about how it will be recieved..Sooooo they have a candidate...the doctors daughter who we have been introduced too and is on her own adventures. now the doctor does not re-generate but transforms into donna and we get a female doctor just for one episode and the writers get to asee the reaction. at the end donna dies and he is thrown back into his own body and is ready for the next series....

I still think we have to see a return of the Rani. Everyone else has come back, the master, davros, rose, so the rani has to come ack sooner or later.
