Great TV
@ 2008-07-26 – 21:00:47
Tonight I watched a 'Play for today' TV program that escaped me in the 80's.
'The flip side of Dominic Hyde' deals with a man Dominic Hyde (Peter Firth), who lives in the future (2130). His job is to pilot a flying saucer back to the 1980's to study why buses never ran on time. He is set off on a mission by his great aunt Mavis to find his Great Great Grandfather who lived in London.
His fruitless search ends up with him getting involved with Jane (Caroline Langrishe) getting her pregnant and creating a paradox by fathering his own Great Great Grandfather.Next week they will air the sequel, which I have already saved.

Can we wait till 2010?
@ 2008-07-06 – 11:39:39
Doctor Who will not be coming back in series format until 2010 and then DT is not confirmed as being in the title role. Next year we will see 3 one off adventure 'specials' as well as this years Christmas special. Torchwood is starting recording in August for next years series but this too may have a special this year of 5 episodes in one week. We should see a return of the Sarah Jane adventures and maybe the adventures of the Doctors Daughter both aimed at a younger audience.
Looks like we will have to make do with re-runs on BBC3 till then.

Unanswered question
@ 2008-07-06 – 08:04:05
Last night we saw the Doctor 'regenerate' for the eleventh time or was it. Is David Tennant both the tenth and eleventh Doctor? If so he only has one more regeneration left. Is there anybody out there with the answer?

On the edge of my seat
@ 2008-07-05 – 19:56:28
yep, for the past 65 minutes my heart has ben in my mouth. I needed the loo, i wanted a drink but nothing was going to get me away from the tv screen, no way hosay!
So there was no 'death' in the literal sence, all characters still living and breathing, and DT still remains.
They pulled a neat trick there, let us think the doc would regenerate, tell us that there was going to be a 'significant' death.
Seems they have paved the way for Martha to leave UNIT and join torchwood, and perhaps Micky too. (well it was inevetable they would need to replace Tosh and Owen).
Rose and Jackie back in the paralel, Donna back on Earth with her memory wiped, and then the promise of Cybermen at christmas.
The only question is, can I wait that long?
Oh, and the three fold man thing? Nice.

Latest suggestion about Donna
@ 2008-07-02 – 20:36:58
Rumours are now circulating that Donna is an incarnation of Romana, a female Timelord that once traveled with the 4th Doctor. Played by both Mary Tamm and Lalla Ward, Romana was last seen in 'Warriors' Gate', where she leaves with the robot dog K-9 to forge her own path in the parallel universe of E-space.
K9 reappears as the companion of Sarah Jane Smith, with no real explanation on how re got back from E-space unless of course with Romana? -

Batman - Year One
@ 2008-07-01 – 16:30:17
Prior to the release of Batman Begins a few years ago, Frank Miller penned a screenplay based on his graphic novel 'Batman Year One'. The screenplay (which also borrows from his graphic novel 'The Dark Knight Returns') was submitted to Warner Bros but was rejected as being too violent.
However, this original script was leaked onto the internet for all to read! If you have the time, I urge you to read it, whether or not you are a fan of the comic. In my opinion this would have been a better film than Batman Begins (although I did like it). It's a gritty, brooding, violent street-level script which is just as much about Bruce Wayne as Commissioner Gordon. Take a look:
