The answer I was looking for was that The Doctor and Mr Spock.....
...are both half human!!!
We all know that Spock's mother was human. But it is a little known fact about The Doctor.
The only time I can remember when it was stated was in Doctor Who - The Movie. In the film, The Master couldn't open the Eye Of Harmony in the TARDIS, but his male human "hostage" could. This allowed The Master to work out The Doctor's secret.-
