Noting that Bernard Cribbins stars in the new Dr Who series as Wilfred Mott, grandfather of Donna Noble.
It will be ironic if he is involved in the episode with the Daleks this series, as Bernard played Tom Campbell, a police officer, who is embroiled with the doctor fighting the Daleks in the movie 'Daleks-Invasion Earth 2150'

I thought the first episode the new series was great fun; and yes, Bernard Cribbins as a Womble (Uncle Bulgaria possibly?) was excellent.

Pro Do they count the films in the official timeline of the series? I thought it was a bit like Highlander 2, everyone just pretends they didn't happen. But yes, it would be odd and fun if he met the Daleks. Having said that, you'd think he would have recognised the Tardis (TARDIS?) if they were going to play it like that.

The actual story line of the first movie 'Dr Who and the Daleks' was just a film version of the series episodes 'The Dead Planet' (currently airing on BBC3). Here we meet the Daleks and the Thals two rival peoples of the planet Skaro years after a nuclear war.
